Baptism is the first of the Sacraments of Initiation where a person is baptised in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and welcomed into the Christian Community. Here at St Luke’s we regularly baptise infants, children and adults. Baptisms for children and infants are generally held on Sundays following the 8am Mass.
If you would like to enquire about baptising your infant or child, please contact the parish office via phone on 0467 775 862 or by email at [email protected] Baptisms occur at St Joseph's Kangaroo Point on the fourth Sunday of the month after 9am Mass. A baptism preparation session must be completed beforehand as is offered at Sts Peter and Paul's, Bulimba parish.
Please note that in order to baptise your infant or child we require at least one parent to be a baptised Catholic. It will also be necessary for you to attend a baptismal preparation meeting prior to the baptism. These preparation sessions will normally take place on Sunday morning after Mass.
Adults wishing to be baptised will be asked to take part in an Adult Preparation Program. If you are considering baptism as an adult please contact the Parish Office on 0467 775 862 to discuss this process further.
